Welcome to Practical Shooting at the Black Hawk Pistol Club

THE 2012 SHOOTING SEASON IS ALMOST UPON US:

SEE YOU ALL STARTING IN MARCH FOR OUR MONTHLY USPSA AND IDPA MATCHES!

Our mission is to promote safe, fair and fun participation in Practical Shooting competition in the Waterloo/ Cedar Falls area of northeastern Iowa.  Practical Shooting attempts to measure the ability to shoot rapidly and accurately with a full power handgun. Most practical shooters are just regular Joes that enjoy shooting on the weekends - much the way the average golfer enjoys golf. If you are tired of shooting static targets or tin cans and want to involve yourself in a sport that is challenging and frankly more fun than we should be allowed to have, practical shooting is for you

When and where are the matches?

Our USPSA matches are held on the second Sunday of every month starting at 8:00 am.  IDPA matches will be held on the fourth weekend of the month.  Check the Calendar for our next match.  These matches are held at the Cedar Valley Pistol and Rifle Club located across from the John Deere Implement Dealer on Highway 63 near Hudson (see Map).  Everyone is welcome and competing in your first match is free.  Subsequent matches are $15.  To be sure  you are updated with the latest match information, please take a few minutes to fill out our contact information form found on the Registration link.  And for the latest chatter in regional USPSA events, be sure to check out the ILIowa Practical Shooters forum.
